The Computer Engineering Department was established in 2004 with an intake of 60 students. The Computer Engineering department has 24 well qualified staff with various specializations to help and guide the students. The deaprtment has “Computer Engineering Students Association” (CESA) in which additional curricular activities for overall development of student is observed. From 2012, the department has an additional intake of 60 students, so total intake is 120 students. The department has its own departmental library with sufficient number of titles.

"I am deligated to introduce you to Department of Computer Engineering, which plays important role in today’s world. The department possesses a core team of competent faculty and laboratories with modern infrastucture equipped with latest softwares. Our faculty regularly publish their research findings in premier refereed international journals. We instill confidence among the students to make themselves experts in the field of computers. Besides provides an excellent learning environment, students are also encouraged towards innovation for both the development and application of the software engineering skills. The department creates an atmosphere for students to acquire a respect for moral values; a sense of their duties as a citizen. Also we provide a platform for the students to enhance their employability skills through Industry Institute interaction. I am certain that our students will prove to be an asset to society. Student's Services

Department of computer engineering provided various services to the students for their overall development viz. Department is providing soft skill services like-

EDC (Entrepreneurship Development Cell )- Students are certified by Ministry of MMSE, Govt. of India and learned all know how for becoming successful Entrepreneur.

III(Industry Institute Interaction)- that encourages forging a relationship between the industry and the institute. Department interacts with industry to ascertain its needs to fill the gap in the curriculum.

Zensar ESD Program- Zensar ESD had conducted 200 Hrs. technical training program and started our student placement from 2012. Zensar conducts Pre assessment test of students in the form of aptitude, group discussion, and technical interview followed by personal interview. The Shortlisted students are trained by expert faculty from Zensar.

FACE Training- It has conducted GDPI and technical things of students.

IEEE: Department organizes enrichment program through professional student chapter such as IEEE.
Department also provide library facility were different books are available. Library includes academic as well as civil services books like MPSC,UPSC etc. it also includes general aptitude books, puzzles, personality development books as they are useful for Training and placement activity.
Library also provides E-resources. Currently department is having two packages of E-resources viz. Springer and Mc-GRAW Hill.

E-learning platform- Department provide e-learning platform like MOODLE. Students can access digital content of the courses they are enrolled for, from Institute cloud server anywhere and anytime.
Department is having lab as a Museum over there students can perform their projects based on IoT domain. Now a day’s IoT is important domain as it is having various applications in the area of industry, home automation, farming, medical etc.

GFM Services- Department has guardian faculty member (GFM) activity this helps in monitoring the students’ extracurricular activity and his/her academic performance. Counseling is a strong activity carried out by GFM. Parental counseling is also done in some cases. Counseling has brought in wonderful results– like, relief from peer fear, more understanding of one’s own talent and weakness, remedial measures for personal problems, strong bonding between faculty and students.

Lab as Museum: The objective of Lab as museum is to promote an environment for the students for the research & innovative projects. LAM is helpful for new technology learners & new researchers in activities related to solve the problems of society, enviournmental, smart city. Students are engage in design and implement different IoT projects for Smart city. LAM is designed for the undergraduate students group of the Department of Computer Engineering.
LAM contains different types of sensors, controllers, hardware devices , which are very beneficial for students learners and developers. It provides students the necessary Platform for realizing their ideas. A great workspace, a comprehensive inventory, ample guidance from faculty, senior-students, Alumni, and the industrial experts.
Aim behind that LAM is increase student projects quality & student’s participation in research project competitions & Motivate students to words research, Innovation & Higher Studies.

News convey system for student:
I) Google Groups: to convey academic information we formed google groups for SE,TE and BE student separately so faculty can upload study material important notices on it.
II)MOODLE: students are enrolled on moodle so student can get all study material like assignments, notes, ppts, tests, test schedule etc through it. and student can access this data from any where .
III) Whatsapp group: We are also using social media for communication purpose for eg.whatsapp. We have created division wise whatsapp groups so we can share all information to the students

Student's Association

Computer Engineering Student Association (CESA)

1. To encourage students of the department to develop their intra-personal skills, like self-confidence, communication skills, general knowledge, by conducting Debates, Quiz, Paper Presentation competitions etc.
2. To encourage students of the department to develop their inter-personal skills, like Event management & Time management by organizing Intra & Inter-Collegiate Events.
3. To provide a platform for the students to interact with students from other Engineering colleges by organising technical and non technical events.
4. To enable students of the Computer Engineering department to develop a healthy competitive spirit by competing with students of other departments & colleges, via Intra & Inter Collegiate events.
5. To provide a platform for the students for knowledge sharing by organizing guest lectures.
6. To enable students to interact with the industry.

Poster Presentation and Tree Plantation 2018

Co-Curricular Activity

A co-curricular activity essentially takes place outside a typical pen and pencil classroom experience. It gives the students an opportunity to develop particular skills and exhibit their non-academic abilities. These activities include tree plantation, Workshops, training programs, Quiz, Poster Presentations etc. so these activities require leadership skill, teamwork, achieving goals and time management. The aesthetic development of character building, spiritual and moral values, physical growth, creativity and much more are backed up by co-curricular activities only. co-curricular activities is necessary for overall development. It teaches the students to stand up for their rights.

Extra-Curricular Activity

Education is a pretty broad concept which surpasses the four wall of class room, The core value of education foster the overall development of student’s-Curricular activities are those which are undertaken side by side with curricular actives’.An Extra-Curricular activity takes place outside typical pen and pencil. The aesthetic development like character building, spiritual and moral values, physical growth, creativity and many more are backed up by Extra-Curricular activities only. It gives student to develop an opportunity to develop particular skill and exhibit their non-academic abilities. These activities incorporate music ,dance, drama or participation in any sport.

MINI-TECHMANTHAN– CODETHON

The Mini- Techmanthan event had been taking place in the campus, under which, the Department of Computer Engineering had organized a technical event, in association with the CESA committee, – ‘CODETHON’, which was held at the inter - departmental level. All students from the second and third year of the computer department had actively participated in this event. Also some students from the IT department had also participated. The event was inaugurated by our respected principal Dr. M. G. Jadhav, honourable head of department Dr S. B. Chaudhari, and the staff members.

This event has been divided into three levels viz Mini gate (MCQ round) , Coding and Rapid fire round. Initially 156 registrations had been done. The first round was held in the labs online where the students had to crack 30 mcq’s for clearing the first level. Those who got selected for the second level did coding within a time span of an hour, and finally 5 students each from second year and third year were selected for third level. For this round, we had the judges Prof. N.P. Shende, Prof. Vrushali Kondhalkar, and Prof. Smita Ghumaste. The winner from TE is piyush patil & the winner from SE is vedant karandikar .

PARENTS MEET 2018

Objective:
1. Parent Teacher interaction
2. To convey progress of the ward.
3. To take feedback from parent for continuous improvement.

Parent Meet was organized by Department of Computer Engineering,Prof. S.R.Suryawannshi on 8th September 2018. All parents of SE,TE,BE were invited by the respective GFM. Dr. S.B. Chaudhari, Head of Department introduced the department to parents. Prof. H.A.Hingoliwala conveyed details about different Activities carried out in department. Discussion session was conducted for parents and GFM of respective student. Parents appreciated the work.Department always work for better improvement and progress of students.

Expert talk on Placement Process

Objective:
1. To aware students about placement process.
2. To improve the skills of students required for placement.

Outcome:
Students acquired Knowledge of Group discussion techniques and how to face technical and HR interview.

Expert session was organized for TE and BE computer engineering students on 8th September 2018. Speaker for this session was our Alumni Mr. Rohan Nighojkar having around 10 years of industrial experience. He was also a Judge for Hackthon 2k18 held at COEP,Pune. This session was very much helpful for students as he has nicely explained about group discussion, technical interview and personal interview.

Android Application Development

Objective:
1. To focus on practical aspects of android application development.

Outcome:
Students acquired Knowledge of Modern Technology i.e. android which is used for development of mobile applications.

Two days’ workshop on Android App Development for TE students on 18th and 19th sept 2018 was organized. Main purpose of this workshop is to focus on practical aspects of Android app development and demonstration of different android projects. Conducted by Mr. Kushal Sharma and his team.Total 138 students were present.
