Master of Business Administration

MBA department was founded in June 2006 with the aim of providing quality education in Business Administration to the students with modern state of the art facilities and competent faculty members. Department is functional under Jayawantrao Sawant College of Engineering, Hadapsar. It provides Master of Business Administration degree and is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly known as University of Pune).
Our JSCOE MBA Department offers our students Two-year Full Time Post Graduate Program comprising 4 semesters. The two years teach future managers about the basic and specialist aspects of management. The MBA course is a holistic experience as the treatment is different from any other post-graduate course. Students of this college are placed amongst the best industries. The T& P cell of the college not only guide our students for personality development but also well-trains them and places them, furthermore also provides career guidance and counseling to students.

The MBA programmes prepare a student for a domestic and global career in diverse sector of the industry. The MBA programme facilitates learning in theory and practice of different functional area of management and equipped the student with an integrated approach to various function of management. However, the demand for managerial skill is not limited to the industry. Managerial talent is much sought by the Government sector, NGO’s, non corporate sector as well.

The students seeking admission to MBA are required to appear for the MH-CET (Common Entrance Test), conducted by the Director of Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra. Students who have appeared for MAT, XAT, ATMA,CAT and C-MAT can also apply.

Any graduate with 50% marks (45% for reserved category students, graduated from University within Maharashtra) or those who are appearing for their final year degree examination in any discipline of an approved University.

  • PEO1: Graduates of the MBA program will successfully integrate core, cross-functional and inter-disciplinary aspects of management theories, models and frameworks with the real world practices and the sector specific nuances to provide solutions to real world business, policy and social issues in a dynamic and complex world.

  • PEO2: Graduates of the MBA program will possess excellent communication skills, excel in cross-functional, multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams, and have an appreciation for local, domestic and global contexts so as to manage continuity, change, risk, ambiguity and complexity.

  • PEO3: Graduates of the MBA program will be appreciative of the significance of Indian ethos and values in managerial decision making and exhibit value centered leadership.

  • PEO4: Graduates of the MBA program will be ready to engage in successful career pursuits covering a broad spectrum of areas in corporate, non-profit organizations, public policy, entrepreneurial ventures and engage in life-long learning.

Under the research facility available in our full-fledged incubation center, we enable the students to know the different aspects of business environment. It facilitates the initial task of generating an idea followed by the intensive research of the market on local, national and international level. Thus our incubation center lays the solid foundation to create the business leaders of tomorrow.

Economics and Management Research Laboratory

The Laboratory for Economics, Management provides our students in economics and management with laboratory environment. The lab houses a computer network designed to simulate business activities such as markets and negotiations. Ongoing areas of inquiry include auctions, bargaining and dispute resolution, electronic markets, mechanism design, and decision science systems. In addition to research, our comprehensive laboratory produces classroom software, providing students with hands-on demonstrations of market principles, strengthening their decision making ability.

National Seminar Association:

This association helps to organise state level and national level seminar for enhancing the knowledge and coordinating different activities. The prime motto of this association is “Knowledge beyond Books. Knowledge beyond Boundaries!”. It helps the students to acquaint with today’s competitive business environment. Our department conducted a national level seminar in association with SPPU titled “Business Analytics: A Paradigm Shift to traditional business processes.” Numerous experts from the industry and academia gave their deep insights to our students enabling them to understand the nitty-gritty of this pathbreaking sector of 21st century “Business Analytics”. They highlighted the qualities required to be a successful Business Analyst carrying the torch of Successful business intelligence.
