Master of Computer Applications

MCA department started in June 2006 with the aim of providing quality education in computer applications to the students with modern infrastructure and competent faculty members.
Department is functional under Jayawantrao Sawant College of Engineering, Hadapsar, it provides MCA degree and is affiliated to University of Pune.

The vision of the MCA department is to develop the next generation of high quality Information Technology professionals to cater the needs of the IT Industry.

M1: To strive for excellence in development and deployment of computer applications.
M2: Our efforts are to impart quality and value based education to raise satisfaction level of all Stakeholders.
M3: To prepare the students to face global challenges.

  • PEO1: Students will be able to develop economically feasible and technically robust software solutions to problems across a broad range of application domains through analysis and design.

  • PEO2: Students will be able to steer their career productively in software industry, academia, research, entrepreneurial pursuit, government, consulting firms and other IT enabled services.

  • PEO3: To achieve peer-recognition; as an individual or in a team; by adopting ethics and professionalism and communicate effectively to excel well in cross culture and inter-disciplinary teams.

  • PEO4: To continue a lifelong professional development in computing that contributes in self and societal growth.


  • PSO1: Students will have the ability to understand the principles and working of computer systems to assess the hardware and software aspects of computer systems.

  • PSO2: Students will have the ability to understand the structure and development methodologies of software system, that possess professional skills and knowledge of software design process.

  • PSO3: Students will have the ability to use knowledge in various domains to identify research gaps and hence to provide solution to new ideas and innovations.

  • PSO4: Implement effective business solutions across an organization that demonstrates appropriate consideration of alternative computer technologies, including networks, servers, programming languages and database systems.

  • PSO5: Develop, analyze and defend solutions to networking and security problems that demonstrate an appropriate balance among security needs, business concerns, confidentiality, availability and system integrity.

  • PSO6: Develop competence in basic technical subjects in computer applications like Programming Languages, Data Structures, Databases, Operating Systems, Software Engineering.

  • PSO7: Identify, analyze, formulate and develop computer applications.

  • PSO8: Use modern computing tools and techniques with confidence.

  • PSO9: Provide simplest automated solutions to various legacy systems.

  • PSO10: Map real life scenarios to various theoretical optimal solutions.

  • PO2: Design and develop applications to analyze and solve all computer science related problems.

  • PO3: Design applications for any desired needs with appropriate considerations for any specific need on societal and environmental aspects.

  • PO4: Integrate and apply efficiently the contemporary IT tools to all computer applications.

  • PO5: Solve and work with a professional context pertaining to ethics, social, cultural and cyber regulations.

  • PO6: Function effectively both as a team leader and team member on multi disciplinary projects to demonstrate computing and management skills.

  • PO7: Communicate effectively and present technical information in oral and written reports.

  • PO8: Utilize the computing knowledge efficiently in projects with concern for societal, environmental, and cultural aspects.

  • PO9: Create and design innovative methodologies to solve complex problems for the betterment of the society.

  • PO10: Apply the inherent skills with absolute focus to function as a successful entrepreneur.

  • PO11: An ability to apply knowledge of Networking, Data Structures, Database Management, Programming Languages, Software Engineering, Testing, Mobile Applications, Mathematics.

The Students' Association is dedicated to the growth and continuance of student services and cultural enrichment at campus.

  • The purpose of SAMCA is to provide a structure through which students may exercise their right to freely associate in pursuit of a common purpose or goal that enhances community at JSPM.
  • SAMCA is mainly initiated to encourage the students, to voice their innovative thoughts and also it acts as an open forum to our alumina. It acts as a bridge between the students and the industry.
  • SAMCA create opportunities for leadership development, learning, student engagement, and fostering of shared interests.
  • Create, organize, promote and enrich the social, cultural, recreational, educational programs, services and environment for students.
  • Develop a sense of community among students and other groups within the Department.
  • Promote and represent students' issues and interest in relation to the Department

  • If you’re an organizer or officer of your association, you will develop lots of experience and expertise in event planning and organization.
  • You will be a team player who is able to show commitment to fellow members of the association by succeeding in your academic work alongside your participation in an association; you will demonstrate time management skills and come across as a well-rounded individual.
  • SAMCA functions completely by the students and guided by our Alumina and caring faculties’ .We motivate students to be updated to recent trends.
